The Glasgow Scotties punched their ticket to the next round of the football playoffs with a 47-0 win over Hopkins County Central on Friday night.

The Scotties scored 35 points in the first quarter, and ran out the clock from there to improve to 10-1 overall. They will travel to Murray next Friday for the second round of the playoffs.

As has been the case all season, Glasgow did not take long to take the lead for good. Against the visiting Storm, it took 40 seconds.

Quarterback Landen Holley connected with Miyan Reynolds on a 46 yard pass for the touchdown. Daniel Rodriguez added the extra-point kick.

The second score of the game came less than two-and-a-half minutes later on a short run by Jaylen Bradley. Rodriguez added another PAT to push the lead to 14-0.

Two minutes and 50 seconds later, Kyle Sledge rushed three yards for a touchdown. A Rodriguez kick made it 21-0.

The final two touchdowns of the first quarter came on a 15-yard pass from Holley to Kaebran Jones, and a four-yard run by Holley. Rodriguez made both extra-point kicks.

The only other two touchdowns in the game were both scored in the second period by the Scotties.

Holley hit Keyshawn Austin on a 33-yard pass with 9:01 left in the first half. Then with just over a minute left in the half, Bradley scored on a 60-yard pass play. Both point after attempts failed, which set the final 41-0 score.

Holley finished the game 6-of-7 passing for 184 yards and four touchdowns.

Bradley caught two passes for 85 yards, while Reynolds caught the 46-yard touchdown pass, Austin caught two passes for 37 yards. Jones caught the 15-yard touchdown passes, and Jayden Estes caught a 10-yard pass.

Jaithan Frankin led Glasgow on the ground with 42 yards on six carries.

Glasgow will hit the road for the next round of the playoffs because it finished second in its district behind LaRue County. Murray beat Hart County, 50-16, Friday night.
