The music doesn’t begin until 7:30 p.m., but some concertgoers were already claiming their spots early Thursday morning. By early morning, folding camp chairs lined the newly terraced east lawn of the Barren County Courthouse as Glasgow prepared to welcome the Louisville Orchestra. The free outdoor concert, held in front of Glasgow City Hall, marks the opening night of the orchestra’s 2026 In Harmony Tour.
Orchestra representative Elizabeth Eittiene said Glasgow has become one of the group’s favorite stops because of the strong community turnout. The statewide In Harmony Tour, supported through state funding, has brought free orchestral performances and events to communities across Kentucky. Adding to the evening’s Kentucky theme, Glasgow will also serve as the first stop for the Frazier Kentucky History Museum’s traveling “120: Cool KY Counties” exhibit, which highlights stories from every county in the Commonwealth
Due to the event, traffic around the square will close in phases Thursday, with the east side closing at 11 a.m., the north side at 3 p.m. and the south side at 5 p.m.
