Marquee Cinemas’ time showing movies in Glasgow ends today.

“We sincerely thank Marquee for serving moviegoers throughout Glasgow and our surrounding region for so many years,” Larry Glass said on social media. “If you are able, we encourage you to attend a movie today or tomorrow as a special way of showing your appreciation and saying thank you.”

The 8-screen theater was built off Happy Valley Road in 1991, and renovated 22 years ago.

“As we honor the past, we are also excited about the future. A new chapter begins this week as Crowne Pointe Theatre Glasgow officially takes over and the renovation process gets underway,” Glass said.

Glass thanked Kyle Boston with Alliance Corporation, which is a construction management company, and Rick Roman, the managing partner of Crowne Point Theatre, and his wife, Charlotte, “for their tremendous hard work and dedication in helping us reach this important milestone.”

In July when the new era for a movie theater in Glasgow was announced, developers anticipated a grand reopening in mid-spring 2027, unveiling what they describe as a completely transformed theater experience for Glasgow and the surrounding region.
